I love these cookies - i think i've made them (successfully, once i figured it out) three times now, and each time i feel like i like them more. Certainly they're not "cute christmas" as much as they taste amazing, and i'll take taste over cute any day. :) <br />I got out my Momofuku book just last night because i was going to work on adapting a recipe from there; it's been months since i've cooked from it. I wonder, did i skip right past the part about using KA unbleached bread flour? I feel like i must have, because i've used unbleached Gold Medal AP flour exclusively for these. hmmmm. Research time.
